Opening in time for summer, brand new day-to-night hotspot Underbank is set to take over the corner of Stockport’s iconic old town with the area’s first combined beer hall, margarita bar and sound system venue in the heart of SK1.

Family-run by local husband and wife team Des and Nina O’Mally, owners of Nook in Heaton Moor, the new venue promises to become a foundational cornerstone of a town in the midst of a food, drink, arts and nightlife revolution.

Located in the former headquarters of a Cheshire bank and furniture store, Underbank will feature connections to both the thrumming old town market plaza via the roof terraces and its immensely popular namesake foodie neighbourhood through the ground floor entrance.

The Beer Hall will serve a carefully curated selection of local brews, from Runaway to Pomona and beyond, alongside an exemplary pour of Guinness, while the Margarita Bar will bring the tropical Stockport summer to life with frozen cocktails, watermelon tequila shots and more to enjoy on the outdoor terrace. Underbank’s Sound System element emphasises their commitment to supporting DJs and party collectives across a regular events schedule, with the first Void sound system in Stockport delivered by audial experts Hollowsphere.

Each season, special guest kitchens will take over the Underbank menu, with the official launch featuring an assortment of Indian small plates, Pachos and kebabs from Steve Patel’s.

The official Underbank launch weekend will take place over Fri 30 and Sat 31 May, boasting a stellar line-up of DJs and musicians including Rich Reason, James Holroyd, Mix-Stress and Sticky Heat.

As part of their soft launch ahead of their grand opening, you can join them before 8pm on Sat 24 and Sun 25 May for a special ‘friends and family’ session with 50% off your bill while they train the team. Simply follow Underbank on Instagram and keep an eye on the bookings page in their bio.
